Have you ever seen this company/ before?
Tell us a bit about your history with this group/performer?
Yes, I've had the privilege to photograph them before. You can check the actual photos from this particular perfomance at http://ow.ly/YsWl

Why did you go to the show? What did you expect to see?
I went because some of the dancers are friends of mine and asked me to shoot the performance. I expected to see, as they have accoustumed me to, a magical, mystical show.

What was your favorite moment(s)? What inspired you?
Wow, they were plenty. Belly Dance, specially Tribal, is not short in surprises, drama, great music and of course... Hips that don't lie and carry you, oh, so far away...

Describe as plainly and as specifically as you can what you actually saw. We are going for description without judgement.
There is no need for complete sentences, phrases and word lists are fine. You can describe these elements or anything you can think of: the artists, the kinds of movement, the qualities of the movement, the use of the stage/space, the musicality/timing...
A mixture of circus and Belly Dance. For about 90 minutes the master of ceremonies, clowns, jugglers, and other circus creatures mixed with belly dancers that performed as tigers and other elements of the circus array.

Do any images, colors or feelings pop into your head when you think about this show?
Surely. All of the elements of the performance were carefully crafted to leave you an indeleble imprint. Even though it was performed at a local park and not a theater.

Describe any or all of these elements: music, lighting, the venue. - How did they contribute (or not) to your enjoyment of this performance?
Well, music is a given, arab music is rich in tonalities that western music does not have. The music in itself was a trip. Lighting was a little difficult, being in an open park.. four par62 hot lights, a robotic gobo and a light beam were all the lighting available and they prooved that quality is better than quantity. Would you like to see this performance / company again? Would you recommend it to a friend?
Why or why not?
Surely. There are even plans to perform it in a theater.

What would you like to have seen more of? Less of?
It was a well balanced show. Perfect as it is.

If you could, what would you ask the choreographer / dancers?
To perform it repeatedly!
