AUDIENCE REVIEW: Yiran Shu Brings Zoey to Life for an Enthusiastic Young Audience at School of Rock Parsippany

The children knew the songs, they knew the characters, and they were ready to sing! On December 28, 2025, School of Rock Parsippany’s Hunters Fan Meeting welcomed approximately 400 attendees across two sold-out sessions. As a member of the organizing team, I had the pleasure of watching Yiran Shu portray Zoey from KPop Demon Hunters and connect with an excited young audience.

The program featured singing and dancing to “Golden,” “Takedown,” “What It Sounds Like,” and “How It’s Done.” For the children, ages 4-17, this was an opportunity to see a beloved character come to life and participate themselves. They sang along, called out the characters’ names, and eagerly joined the movement.

One of the highlights was when Yiran and her fellow performers stepped off the stage to sing and dance with the children. The excitement became something everyone could share! Yiran also helped teach the children dance movements, giving them an active part in the event. Her warmth and enthusiasm were central to the experience: she performed for the children and made time to engage with them directly.

That connection continued during the photo and autograph sessions, when young fans could meet the performers up close. These interactions were an important part of what made the day feel personal.

As an organizer, I especially appreciated Yiran’s contribution to an event that brought children so much joy. Seeing an Asian artist share her love of music and dance with such an enthusiastic young audience was a pleasure. The children’s eager participation was the most memorable response of all.
