The Playground NYC allows dancers to experience various choreographic styles and ideas, engage with a new community of dancers, and gather resourceful information and inspiration from the array of choreographers involved. In turn, established choreographers are paid for their creative investigations, are given free space to explore new movement with professional dancers, and are provided with the opportunity to establish relationships with new dancers and fellow choreographers.
gARTh’s class will focus on contemporary movement, some improvisation, and physicality. Honing in on finding your creative palate with different exercises and tactics. He strives to find organic movement qualities, and vibrant emotional states throughout his class.
BIO:
gARTh is ART attended the Juilliard School in New York City. He has danced works by Ohad Naharin, Crystal Pite, and Andrea Miller. He was a cast member in Punchdrunk’s Sleep No More in both NYC & Shanghai. He was also a part of DV8’s UK & European tour of JOHN. He has taught all over USA, Canada, Iceland, and now China. gARTh loves to create and choreograph. He is a musical composer and has released some of his own music independently. He continues to freelance and create work in contemporary stylings.
