Freeform Review:
30-30-30 is an annual benefit event at Dixon Place to celebrate and fundraise for Dixon Place’s Dance Programs. It was held on December 30, 2025 to salute the closing of the 39th Anniversary Season of Dixon Place. 30 companies were invited by Sangeeta Yesley of Creative Performances to showcase their work. Featured companies were selected from the abundance of New York City dance scene including established artists as well as emerging talents.
The diversity of 30-30-30 cannot be overstated. This year, a number of cultural dances were included as well as the concert dance that we know and love.
The show started with “Penthouse” which was an excerpt from “XOXO: Love Letters from NYC” with singing and dancing (Halle Augenstein, Kay Radomski, Melissa Buriak, Victoria Manoli, Willow Liebowitz, Anna Madic Bradley produced by Sturkey & Studabaker).
Behar Dance Ensemble brought cultural dances complete with costumes (Angelina Haque, Angel Haque choreographed by Julia Kulakova).
Joan Liu of Axons Dance Theatre brought a comedic performance with her new work “Amused” which combined theater and classical technique bringing lots of laughters from the audience.
Other standouts included “The Last Call” by Yoo and Dancers, choreographed and performed by Hee Ra Yoo, which exhibited profound artistry; Taylor Gordon’s “Cin Cin” performed by Erin Diehl, Gordon, and John Reed with a narrative story along with dancing.
We were treated to an upbeat performance by Empire Dance Company (choreographed by Bree Jacobs) before the 31st dance where audience members were invited to join in on the fun.
Dixon place truly is a special place — not that many venues can bring in 30 companies under one show! Bravo Sangeeta and team for all the hard work!
