AUDIENCE REVIEW: How are you is a greeting, not a question

How are you is a greeting, not a question

Company:
Laura Pawel Dance Company

Performance Date:
March 18-19, 2016

Freeform Review:

Laura Pawel Dance Company (LPDC) has done it again. My second performance and once again I was left astonished. LPDC's abstract and contemporary choreography and language (jargon) had me delighted in my seat. Not to mention the costumes, Jim Finney truly made a grand appearance with his costume in the premiere of "How are you is a greeting, not a question". In that same premiere, lighting director Katy Kaufmann, made magic happen, by playing off each of the dancers' vibrant and luminous costumes. LPDC's dancers, Stacey Berkheimer and Pam Finney took the stage with a familiar dance, "Tete-a-Tete", a moving presentation to say the least. The energetic talking vocabulary used through all the dances was not the only thing that had me smiling with amusement in the crowd, between Cecilia Coleman Quartet, Barebones, and Phil Stone's music it was hardly easy to stay positioned in your seat. The music was revitalizing and rejuvenating. The show is definitely one I wouldn't dare to miss again and can't wait to see what LPDC has in store for us next year.
