Sisters NicoleEmma, and Claire Von Enck went from dancing in their home studio in Ohio to all three becoming professional ballet dancers at top companies in the country — not an easy feat.

Online sources state that only 3% of ballet dancers make it professionally, making the presence of the Von Enck name in the roster of companies like Texas Ballet Theater and New York City Ballet a miracle.

Even with each sister’s success, the demanding nature of professional ballet seasons have kept their dancing careers apart — until now.

Claire Von Enck reflects in an interview with Pointeworks how, “With our different schedules, I have never actually been able to see Nicole perform professionally,” making the chance to dance together in a piece created just for them, an opportunity of a life-time.

With the facilitation of the ballet company Pointeworks and its vision to foster unique, female-forward collaborations in the arts, the three Von Enck sisters will dance together on stage for the first time in their professional careers. The new work choreographed by Laine Habony and set to a brand-new score by Katie Jenkins, is inspired by each sister's personality and their deep connection to one another.

"I think the idea of them dancing together is inspiration enough," Laine says.

Pointeworks is excited to witness these three women share their joy and love of ballet together, both in the rehearsal process with choreographer Laine Habony and on stage at the Citigroup Theater in  Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's Weill Center from March 21-22, 2025.

Even without their sisterly bond, each dancer holds boundless capabilities in ballet and years of experience with stage presence and artistic expression that are capable of captivating entire theaters. But the fact that they are sisters makes the dancing and meaning behind Laine’s piece even more special.
